Rainbows For Rachel Slide Show

My latest Slide Show was inspired by Rachel.  She is a little girl from Wilmington DE, who I have read about on Facebook.  She has an incurable form of Cancer.  This Slide Show was created in hopes it puts a brief smile on her face and the face of her mom.

This is a sample of what I can do.  These are photos from Facebook of some of the amazing kids I have been blessed to have come into my life if only by reading their journeys online.  The quality of this slideshow is reduced so it can be uploaded online.  The DVDs I can create are so much better quality.  I created the slideshow and design of photos.

A Club I'd Never Thought I'd Join

My heart just sinks sometimes at the thought of how many people (both young and old) have to deal with Cancer.  I know it has been 12 years since I myself heard those three horrible words "You Have Cancer" and I know it has been 10 years since I was told I was "Cancer Free" but everyday I live with long term complications of this horrible disease.  Everyday I read more stories of people who have had their lives altered FOREVER by Cancer.
I am happy to be alive and to have won many battles with this beast.  However, In my opinion Cancer is something that never goes away.  It is not something you can have happen and simply forget.  In 1999 I joined a club (not by choice NOBODY chooses to join) ... The club was Cancer Survivor ... because I believe that as soon as you are given the diagnosis You Are A Survivor.
It is this club membership that has caused me to forever try and find away to give back.  Through many trials and tribulations I have started my own Home Business which is Silver Lining Reflections.  Designs4Smiles is my way to try and help put a Brief Smile on The Faces by ANYONE who has had their lives altered by Cancer.  I just hope this helps in some small way.
I know this blog entry has jumped around a little.  I guess that is just the way I feel.  I am SO Happy to be around and alive I just have such a STRONG DESIRE to give back, sometimes (ok most of time) I don't know how to go about doing it.
Any ideas?

Happy Birthday To Me

Today is my birthday.  My 39th, and I am proud to be 39.  I've been through alot including dying a few times so birthdays don't seem like anything to be sad about.  So my dad and I went out to dinner YUMMY and we even got slices of Banana Walnut Cake to celebrate the occasion.  Hubby and I are going to go out Sunday after work to celebrate.
Hubby sent me an e-mail with a house in our area that has been reduced in price.  Not looking to move but had to e-mail the agent about seeing the house. Just gotta see what the inside of the house looks like.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!  :-) Love that today is so Beautiful Outside.  Love that my grand daughter is just a few feet away :-)  Life is good.  I know that life could be so much worse, so I just appreciate what I have that much more.

HUGS and Prayers to D & C and all they are going though.  I love you all and am praying for a good turn out.

Day 2 of my new blogging challenge

Day 2 - A photo of you taken over 10 years ago and the story behind it

This is a photo on my wedding day September 16, 2000.  It was the happiest day of my life.  Not only was it a Celebration of two best friends getting married, but a celebration of my life.  I was in remission from my Leukemia.  It was a day of special meaning for all kinds of reasons.  The wedding was just wonderful, everyone had such a great time.   This day will forever hold a speecial place in my heart.

We didn't know I would relapse later that year.  But I have been 100% cancer free since my Bone Marrow Transplant .... July 11, 2001 ... The second happiest day of my life or the 1st happiest of my "New" Life.

Day 30 of my 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 30:  Post a photo of someone who you really miss

I miss my mom the most.  She passed away after a battle with Cancer in August 2004.  It is so hard to believe it has been almost 7 years.  I miss her everyday and how I so wish she was here to meet her great grand children (my sister's 2 grand children) and Aolani my very first grand daughter,  She would have loved them all.
