Day 12 of my 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 12:  Post a photo of something you love.
This my Fur-Baby Out In The Snow Last Year

I just love my little Fur-Baby, Misty Morningstar II.  We didn't name her she came into our lives with that name.  The previous owner had already named her that so we kept it, but we just call her Misty.  She is a 6 year old Pure Bred Pomeranian.   She is my little baby and I just love her so much.  She is the perfect mix of cat & dog LOL  I was always a cat person but she has changed my mind.  She is also just the right size for me to pick up.  I couldn't imagine my life without her.  She loves her Mommy :-) She helps with that baby fix that I need.

Day 10 of my 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 10:  Post a photo of the person you do the craziest things with

I would have to admit as an adult I really haven't done anything "crazy" in years, unless you count staying up all night.  So I'll post a photo of my childhood best friend ... cause for elementary school kids we did some crazy stuff (well maybe not "crazy" but FUN!!!)  From paper clothes to fun nicknames here is photo of Mihhy and Bi

Those were the Days!!!

Day 9 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 9:  A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most
I know he hates this picture, but I love it :-)  I would have to say that my hubby has gotten me through some very rough and dark storms in my life.  We weren't even engaged when I first got sick.  When other guys might have turned and run (and nobody could really blame him), he stayed by my side.  Happily married for 10 years now, and we even got married before my relapse.  He is my rock in the storm.

Day 8 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 8:  Post a photo that makes you laugh

I would have to say that this is honor of my furr-baby Misty.  Who is now fond of licking our tan couch (but that is a different topic LOL).  And the award for cutest and funniest photo goes to ...
I just love this photo.  Makes me giggle everytime.

Day 6 of the 30 day photo challenge

Today is Day 6 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge. I have been doing a lot of thinking, and trying to figure out who I was gonna pick for "A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day". But then I realized I don't want to trade places with anyone not even for a day. I am a total of all the experiences I've been through. I'm ME so instead I'm posting a quote that I found on the web.

Day 5 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 5 ... Post a Photo of Your Favorite Memory

I guess you could say my favorite memory has to be from my wedding.  The whole day was so wonderful and full of so much love.  Not only did I marry my best friend but I goto celebrate my life with all the people I loved.
This photo is from our reception.  Left to right is Brian, Me, Sherry and Kermie.  Sherry was my phyiscal therapist and the first one to teach me how to walk when I was SO sick.  Kermie was also from Johns Hopkins (as was Sherry) and he took such good care of me.  I will NEVER forget how special I felt to know they were at my wedding,  The two of them repersented all of the WONDERFUL medical staff at Johns Hopkins who took such awesome care of me and got me to the point I am today.  God Bless You All!!
I just had to include these photos of some of the AMAZING people who took care of me when I was in the fight of my life with Leukemia.
Me and the Famous Dr. Mark Levis  The Man who saved my Life

Kermie carried me like a little baby

Marcie my very First Nurse -- She wiped my tears and gave me the life saving medicine I needed

Brenda was there when I really need her

Boyd -- Snow, Rain, or Dead of Night he was always there for me

Article about Scrapbooking Freebies

Make Your Initial Scrapping With Scrapbooking Freebies

By: Amy Wells

It's easy to get started with scrapbooking when you have all sorts of scrapbooking supplies at hand. They are available on various Internet websites dedicated to scrapbooking and craft supplies and they are often organized in archives and galleries. You can get any of them or all, without any fee-payment, on the one condition: that you register. Expert scrapbookers and internet designers create digital scrapbooking freebies, and they provide a much easier alternative to covering everything on your own.

Unlike the rest of scrapbooking supplies, scrapbooking freebies help you make considerable savings. Yet, we must mention the fact that they are mainly designed for digital applications although lots of them work with software programs that enable printable versions of any digital album. Scrapbooking freebies have a number of embellishments together with pre-made layouts and templates. Search online to seek out them.

There are quite many websites that offer scrapbooking freebies, but before downloading any, it is a good idea to get a look over their offer. By offer, I refer not only to the gallery with freebies but also the potential of designing an album directly on such a website by means of scrapbooking software tools. You should be aware of the fact that each website is unique, and the number and complexity of features do vary. Check features in detail for advanced album making purposes. Moreover, when you consider the practical side of scrapbooking supplies you certainly must envisage the advantages of digital scrapbooking.

There is no issue of deterioration with digital albums. It allows for as many adjustments as you need. It gives you total flexibility for the choice of colors, shapes and sizes; not to mention that a complex collection of scrapbooking freebies gives you access to extensive creative design. Moreover, with scrapbooking freebies you have instant gratification because results speak for themselves. Albums are much easier to make, and they look really great. You'll sheerly enjoy it!

Scrapbooking freebies can be available from many online sources. They are artistic, advantageous and very quick to implement for any digital or conventional scrapbooking project. Search for those freebies that best match your purposes and expectations. Use different sources for freebies in order to meet versatility criteria. Unique ideas will always stimulate one's creativity and imagination. You'll see for yourself once you try them!

Some of my long lost works ...

I did a Google search today with my name, just to see what might come up.  I found a site that I had joined back in 2007.  It had a few of my old poems on there, so I thought I would share them with all of you.  Hope you enjoy:

Life's Little Dreams©
You and I walking hand and hand with only the moon as our guide
Walking an everlasting line toward a special place
This place is only known to you and I
It contains no problems, no hurt, or pain
No intruders to keep us from being with one and another
At times this place seems so far off and other times this place
Is right in front of us
But we both know that one day we will reach this place
Yet maybe not as soon as we would like
This place will never go away unless our love is broken and
We must go our separate ways
Sometimes you run ahead of me when you see this place and
At those times I may lag behind
When I do you always come back and walk with me
Realizing that this place can only be special if we walk
Toward it together and enter it with our love.

Why I Care So Much About You©
When I look into your eyes
I See:
An ocean of honesty
A sparkle of innocence
A tear of pain
And a dream of love
When I hear your voice
I Hear:
A moment of doubt
A laughter of excitement
A sound of reassurance
And a feeling of security
And when I look into your heart
I Know that there is:
A lifetime of hope and wonder
A world of understanding
A river full of emotions
And an eternity of friendship

A Dedication to my Future Husband.... Brian©
What would I do without you? No man has ever loved me the way that you do. When I have been at my lowest you were there to help me back up. You were there to hold my hand, wipe my tears, and to lovingly wrap your arms around me. You protected me from my nightmares and from the darkness of the unknown. Without you my life would be empty. I am so thankful that I never have to feel that way again. Because for as long as we both shall live we will always be together.
One day I opened my eyes and saw the most amazing man in front of me. To hear you say "I Love You" was the most romantic moment of my life. Not only are you my Best Friend but you are my Soul mate......... and I Love You.

It is amazing what you can find on the web.  I had completly forgotten about those poems, or that I had submitted them online.  Might have to do some more searching and see if there is anymore old stuff out there.  Keep Ya Updated .........

I HATE Cancer

I hate Cancer.  Cancer Sucks!!  Sometimes actually most of the times I don't even think about what I've been through.  But sometimes, it seems to leach into my brain.  How my life is so different then I thought it would be.  I am not saying that my life now isn't wonderful because it is .... but sometimes I just miss or wonder what would've been.
Then the thought strikes me, that so many people in my life have also had their lives altered forever by this horrible beast.  Oh how I hate what Cancer has done.  How could I possibly dwell (even briefly) on the "Why Me?' question when there so many others that .............................
I always thought I'd be a parent one day, and actually be the bread winner in the household and use ALL the college I paid for, to be able to drive and now life is different good but different.
I have started my own home business which hopefully one day will take off, and I am going to be a Grandma by the end of the month, and I never had to go through labor pains (alot of other pain LOL but not labor), I still can't drive and that SUCKS but between my dad and my husband I have great Chauffeurs.
OK, enough Pity Party for me .... Life Goes On .... And though it may be different it is Great!!!

A Baby Shower for my Baby

On February 26th it was the baby shower for my step-daughter and her boyfriend. They got so much cute and useful stuff. My sister made the most adorable favors. I’ll have to take a picture and post it!! For now I’ll post the diaper cake, my husband made with his own two hands.

Made with Love
Goto my website http://www.silverliningreflections.com to see the Slide Show I made with all the wonderful gifts they got.
I am sure there will be a lot of loving and sweet pictures/slide shows that I will post. Oh and the stories I am sure I’ll have!!
I never got the chance to have my own baby, so I have no doubt that I am gonna spoil this little one. It may not have happened exactly like we wanted to, but we are SO glad now that he/she is almost here. I promise to keep you all posted ….

Why I Relay?? American Cancer Society's Relay For Life

Cancer has touched my life in so many ways.  Not only am I a survivor of Leukemia, I am the daughter of two parents who have both had their own fight with the evil beast.  A number of my friends have had their lives altered forever.  So each year I join in The American Cancer Society' s Relay For Life in hopes to one day find a cure for this horrible disease in all its ugly forms.
Attached is a link to a slide show I created in answer to the question "Why I Relay?".  Please view it and comment, to let me know what you think.  http://www.youtube.com/user/SLROwner#p/a/u/2/UrEpOhBL05Y

Welcome to My Little World

I want to take this opportunity to say Hello and Welcome to everyone out there in Cyber Land. My name is Melissa and I am the owner and creator of Silver Lining Reflections, LLC. It is a new home business based out of Bridgeville, Delaware.
Silver Lining Reflections, LLC is a business created to help others cherish those special moments in their lives.  We want to create a way for you to be able to share a piece of yourself with future generations.
By creating digital slide shows, photo books, and other like items I hope that we are able to do that.
I have been through a lot in my young (or relatively young) life, and one of things that has become VERY Important to me is preserving our past for future generations.
My mom always instilled in me how important photographs were.  Even though my ability as a photographer is purely amateurish I am good with digital scrap booking and computers.  Combing these talents, my own background a New Home Business was Born.
The MOST important thing in my life is to find a way to give back, to make a SILVER LINING out of my Dark Storm of cancer.
In 1999, at the age of 27, I was given the diagnosis of Leukemia.  Too make a long story short, I went through many rounds of chemotherapy, long stays in the hospital, and a Matched Unrelated Donor Bone Marrow Transplant in 2001.  I have been 100% Cancer Free ever since, I have been left with long term effects that have led me to be on disability.  Yet another reason a Home Business was a good fit for me.  I have a Brain, it just doesn't work as fast and the correct way all the time, but it does work.
I wanted to find a way to give back.  I just hope by starting Silver Lining Reflections, LLC I can do this.
I want to Personally invite all of you to our website and start preserving your memories today.
